The Order Ticket Panel

The Order Ticket panel is a more familiar order entry interface for many traders. It allows you to enter an order for a specific symbol with additional customization of the order.

Layout

The top of the panel displays quote information for the symbol shown. Click on the Symbol Name to display the Instrument Profile.

The red / green bar at the far right is a Market Stochastics meter, which is a visual representation of the session's market activity with the Open price marked as a blue bar.

The middle of the panel allows you to enter the order details. Quick Action buttons allow you to Buy or Sell at Bid / Ask.

The bottom right of the panel shows your open position and profit/loss. You can use the Quick Action buttons to Close or Reverse your position.

The Order Ticket

The middle of the panel contains the Order Ticket, where you can create a new order for the symbol shown. Fields available in the Order Ticket are described below:

Field Description
Account The trading account from which you will initiate the order. Note: This is a display-only field. The active trading account is a global setting for the application.
Symbol The symbol displayed on the order ticket.
Qty Displays the default quantity, as set in your Preferences. You may adjust it using the up/down arrows.
Limit When the Order Type is Limit (LMT) or Stop Limit (STP LMT), the order will only be filled if it can be at this price, or a better price.
Stop Price When the Order Type is Stop (STP), the order will only be filled if it can be at this price, or a better price.

When the Order Type is Stop Limit (STP LMT), the order will only be filled after the Stop Price has been reached (and only at the Limit Price, or better.
Action Buy or Sell
Order Type Market, Limit, Stop, or Stop Limit. Smart Order types include Iceberg and Bracket. Learn more about Order Types.
Route The brokerage firm that handles your trading account. This is a display-only field.
TIF When the Order Type is Limit (LMT), Stop (STP), or Stop Limit (STP LMT), you must identify the Time in Force (TIF) for the order. Learn more about TIF.
GTD When you select GTD (Good till Date) in the TIF field, enter the date through which your order is valid.


There are a number of "Quick Action" buttons at the bottom, which can initiate a specific type of order, regardless of the Action or Order Type specified in the Order Ticket area.

Open Position

The very bottom of the panel shows your open position for this symbol. Your Profit / Loss can be displayed in dollars or in pips. Click on the P/L field to toggle.
