Chart Properties

Chart Properties are used to define the Colors and Bar Settings for the Chart panel.

Change Chart Properties

  1. Click the Settings drop-down list, found in the top right corner of the chart, and select Chart Properties.
    OR
    Click the Action Menu, located at the top right of the chart pane, and select Settings.
    Result: The Chart Settings dialog box opens, with two tabs from which to choose.
  2. Open the Colors or Bar Settings tab.
  3. Make your desired changes, then click Save.

Colors Tab

Choose the color for any of the options shown below.

Option Description
Background Controls the color of the chart background.
Separator Controls the color of the horizontal line that appears between the symbol pane and any study panes added.
Scale(s) foreground Controls the color for the price and time scales.
Grid Controls the color of the chart grid.
Header background Controls the background color of the chart header (the area that displays the symbol, open, high, low, close and change).
Header foreground Controls the text color of the chart header (the area that displays the symbol, open, high, low, close and change).
Data View background Controls the background color of the Data View window (the window that shows the date/time and all relevant data for the bar on which the cursor is positioned).
Tracking cross Controls the color of the cross hair (the horizontal and vertical line that appears where your cursor is positioned).

 

Bar Settings Tab

Choose how the bars are rendered on the chart.

Option Description
Bar Width Controls the width (in pixels) of each bar shown on the chart.
Bar Margin Controls the width (in pixels) that is added as "empty space", between the latest bar drawn and the vertical price scale.
Bar Spacing Controls the width (in pixels) that is added as "empty space" between each bar on the chart. This is sometimes referred to as "Bar Density".
