Symbol Search

Symbol Search is available at any time by pressing your F2 key. You may also open Symbol Search as a temporary panel:

  1. Click the + button, found on the bottom right of the application.
  2. From the panel chooser, under the Tools grouping, click Symbol Search.

When Symbol Search opens, you can choose from three tabs: Text Search, Popular Futures, Popular Indices, Spreads, and Options.

Text Search Tab

The Text Search tab allows you to type any text (symbol or description), and choose from the results displayed.

  1. Specify whether the search should be performed for Stocks, U.S. Funds, Futures, Indices, Forex, or ETFs. (Stocks and Futures are chosen by default.)
  2. Enter text for the search. As you do, results are displayed, showing the name, symbol, type and exchange.
  3. As you continue to enter text, the results table will narrow, showing the most relevant results for your search.
  4. Select a symbol from the results table, and click New Quote or New Chart.

Popular Futures Tab

This tab automatically displays a list of popular futures contracts to choose from.

  1. Select a symbol from the results table
  2. Select a symbol from the results table, and click New Quote or New Chart.

Popular Indices Tab

This tab automatically displays a list of popular indices to choose from.

  1. Select a symbol from the results table
  2. Select a symbol from the results table, and click New Quote or New Chart.

Spreads Tab

This tab automatically displays a list of Exchange Traded Spreads to choose from.

  1. Select a symbol from the results table. You may filter the results table by identifying a Futures Root, type of spread, or Leg.
  2. Select a symbol from the results table, and click New Quote or New Chart.

Options Tab

This tab automatically displays a list of Futures Options to choose from.

  1. Select a symbol from the results table. You may filter the results table by identifying a Futures Root, the underlying symbol, expiration date, or type of spread, or Strike Price value.
  2. Select a symbol from the results table, and click New Quote or New Chart.
